Balkan Remixed Playlist

Traditional Balkan music mixed with modern, electronic beats: this genre first appeared in the Berlin underground scene in the mid-1990s. The term was coined by Berlin DJ Robert Soko, whose BalkanBeats monthly parties still continue nowadays. It then spread to the European and world scene, to become an established genre nowadays. Today the genre is rooted everywhere and even at many Electro Swing parties it is indispensable!

Our Balkan Remixed Playlist includes only remixes and electronic versions of classical Balkan tracks and themes. It’s all hosted and selected by Troy Savoy (Cirque de la nuit), one of the heads behind the Goulash Disko promoters from Austria.

The Balkans, also known as the Balkan Peninsula, is a geographic area in Southeast Europe with various definitions and meanings, including geopolitical and historical. The region takes its name from the Balkan Mountains that stretch throughout the whole of Bulgaria from the Serbian–Bulgarian border to the Black Sea coast!
