The Soulmate Project, the one-man-band studio project led by producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Roman Andor, is set to take the stage as a live ensemble for the first time. Since its London launch in 2014, the project has transformed from a remix-focused platform into a distinct creative force. After notable remix competition successes across various genres 🎧 and a collaboration on the Masha Ray project, it took nearly five years for The Soulmate Project to solidify its unique sound, further defined by an ongoing collaboration with Wolfgang Lohr’s Electro Swing Thing label, which has supported a steady flow of releases and remixes since 2020. 🎵✨🎼

Now, with the release of “Vinyl Flavour” 💿, The Soulmate Project delivers its first full-length album—an eclectic collection of 12 original tracks and 3 distinct covers, including a unique rendition of Vic Mizzy’s classic “The Addams Family”. 👻 The album boasts a diverse soundscape, from Electro-Swing and Chanson to Lo-Fi and Disco, all meticulously crafted by Andor, who personally plays a range of instruments, including guitar, bouzouki, cello, tenor horn, and clarinet. 🎸 The album’s tracks highlight a blend of “vinylized” acoustic instruments, such as trumpet, saxophone, and strings, with modern production elements 🔊, giving “Vinyl Flavour” its signature sound. 🎺🎷

With songs like “Keep My Boots On” 👢, a quintessential Swing-House anthem, the swagger-filled “Stereo” 🎶, and the smooth, relaxed vibes of “Doxy”, Vinyl Flavour showcases a range of moods and genres. Highlights include “Laisse-Toi Tomber” 🎤, a modern chanson piece, and “Be Yourself” ✨, a unique Lo-Fi pop track featuring Andor’s vintage-style vocals. The album’s sound draws on rich contrasts, blending samples that evoke nostalgic memories with contemporary beats and effects. 🕰️🎚️ Andor’s personal influences, including Slavic melodies and 1960s dance orchestra sounds, shine throughout, alongside nods to crossover icons like Caravan Palace. 🎺💃

“Be Yourself” was recently selected for a high-profile campaign by South Korean conglomerate Hanwha, garnering over 80 million views on YouTube and building anticipation for the album’s release. 📺 To celebrate “Vinyl Flavour”, The Soulmate Project will hold an album release show on December 12 🎉📅, where Roman Andor will perform live alongside his new ensemble. 🎤🎸

The Soulmate Project – Biography

Roman Andor’s THE SOULMATE PROJECT is a tasty music cocktail that pairs modern beats with decades of vintage music sounds. Starting out as an award-winning remixer for acts like AJR, Umphrey’sMcGee, and Work Drugs, the producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist creates a nostalgic yet fresh sound experience.

After years of experimenting with different styles The Soulmate Project released their debut EP “Vintage Revisited” with songs ranging from jazzy Lo-fi Beats, over Funk to typical Electro-Swing sounds whilst working with different singers. After a fruitful collaboration with Wolfgang Lohr and his Electro Swing Thing label the plot thickened and The Soulmate Project started to make waves in the Electro-Swing scene. By adding his personal musical and cultural influences such as Slavic melodies, the dance orchestra sound of the 60s and 70s, and electro-swing combined with modern lo-fi beats and EDM The Soulmate Project has created an explosive and unique stylistic mix with its distinct signature.

The pinnacle of this project will be the release of the album Vintage Flavour on December 6, 2024, along with a release show, finally bringing the project to the stage after 10 years.
