Are you ready for another round of sljivovica in the confetti rain?
It’s time for BALKAN vs SWING vs CUMBIA on The Day of the Dead!

We encourage you to get your face painted and dress up to celebrate the dead, make your way to Operaen and dance the night away with all of us with a 7 piece Cumbia Orchestar and headliner DJ flying in all the way from Manchester, UK!

Live on stage:
♫ TRYPICAL CUMBIA (CL/CO/DK)
Trypical Cumbia interprets the Cumbia genre – which has its origins in the 1950s Colombia, but today is a widespread genre throughout all of Latin America.
Trypical Cumbia plays a mix of carefully selected songs and instrumental music from Colombia, Chile, Nicaragua, Peru and Brazil and their own compositions as well.

The heart of the septet is the strong swinging percussion-trio of Alex Sharm Opazo (Chile), Oscar Pollo (Colombia) and Yannik “el Vikingo” Hartig (Denmark). Cristian Jara (guitar) and Michael Miño (bass), both from Chile, are the passionate and playful voices that evokes the backbone and soul of Cumbia – while the two winds in the front, on clarinet Tine Vitkov (Denmark) and on tenor/soprano sax Jose Lezaeta (Chile) in a duo of poetry, energy and madness express the temper and mood of Cumbia.

A trip from the deep of the Amazon up to the Andes mountains, down to the Caribbean coast and over the Atlantic ocean to the streets of Europe. Trypical Cumbia takes typical tunes from South-American folk music into an endless trip of joy and warm feelings.

Late night Headliner:
♫ EMMA CLAIR (UK)
Emma Clair is a DJ, Promoter and Producer from Manchester. Emma has quickly made a firm imprint in the contested Manchester club scene. Her very own ‘Prohibition’ parties have played a vital role of making the genre of festival favourite ‘Electro Swing’ accessible to the masses.
Emma has been consistently playing the length of the UK and beyond, from London’s ‘Ministry of Sound’ and ‘414 Club Brixton’, to Manchester institutes of ‘Sankey’s’ and ‘Joshua Brooks’. Emma has also played in Ibiza, Prague, Berlin, and Geneva and now the time has come to put Copenhagen on that list!

Emma is also no stranger to the festival scene appearing at Bulgaria’s ‘Big White Powder Festival’ and for 4 years running has played at the UK’s acclaimed ‘Beat-Herder’ Festival. A regular on the radio circuit with past shows highlighted on various UK platforms including Reelhouse TV, Pure 107.8 FM, Generate, Radio Frequency and her very own continued radio podcast ‘Prohibition’ on iTunes and Spotify.
Add to this several high profile gigs including a return to ‘Swingamajig Festival’ and her debut at Boomtown Fair and a near full production schedule forecast.
There are few DJs in the UK that can bring to a venue what Emma can, creativity, raw enthusiasm, delivering one banger after the other when she undoubtedly will end this bash of a party with style in the confetti rain!
