iSwing Top 50 – January 2022 by JC JSum

Welcome back to the iSwing Top 50 music blog, I’m your host JC JSum. Last month Bart&Baker swang their way to the top of the chart with, “Last Night A DJ Swang My Life.” It features Minnie Valentine on vocals. Will they hang on to Number 1 for a second week? Keep reading.

Wolfgang Lohr and Alanna Lyes are at 10 this week with, “Golden Twenties.” It reached number 3 back in the Summer of 2020. It starts the Top 10 off.
Smokey Joe & The Kid with Blake Worrell are above that with, “Somehow.”

The only new entry in the Top 10 this week is from Catjam and Offbeat. They rebound back up to 8 with, “Catmandu VIP.” They peaked at 5 in December. Dropped out. Rose back up to 9. Dropped out again. And now it’s at number 8.

Catjam also debuts down at 39 with the very clubby, “Milkshake Selecta.”
The Top Swinging Entry on the Top 50 chart this week belongs to Kumiho with, “Legend,” at 36.

Caravan Palace’s, “Black Betty,” stays at 7. As well as Odd Chap and Little Violet, they stay at number 6 with, “Crazy Out There.” Odd Chap also is this week’s Big Swinging Shoutout….

When it comes to fast, action packed Electro Swing, no one goes harder than Odd Chap. He dropped this gem of an EP last year. It’s a mellow route for the popular DJ/Producer to take and it works nicely. The melodic, “Equinox,” debuts from the EP this week at number 47. Odd Chap is independent.

LVDS also stays at number 5 with the ultra smooth, “Wonderful You.” “Simon Says,” by Duke Skellington and Hypeman Sage slips to number 4. The Speakeasy Streets climb to number 3 with popular club hit, “Sweet Deceit (SpekrFreks Remix).”

Bart&Baker and Minnie Valentine’s hit, “Last Night A DJ Swang My Life,” falls to number 2. And Szigeti Juli happily make their way to Number 1 with, “Feel So Happy.” They scored their last Number 1 back in June with, “Don’t Stop.”
