Bio – Kumiho

The sound of Kumiho is an elixir of raw organic sounds and psychedelic electronic instrumentation. The premiere album Nine Tales, released September 2018, is a sampler of styles ranging from electro R&B to American Electro Swing all united by the smokey honeyed vocals of Kumiho.

Drawing inspiration from legendary female vocalists like Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan as well as modern day bands like Caravan Palace and Parov Stelar, Kumiho takes the excitement and spontaneous nature of Jazz and mixes it into the modern age.

The band is comprised of vocalist, Kumiho and Executive Producer Sammy Legs with gifted musicians rotating in for added pizzazz. Every live show is unique and features an element of jazz improvisation from instrumentalists. Kumiho is a seasoned performer and spices up each show with flapper and burlesque choreography to accent the band’s sizzling tunes.
