Swing Sisters Volume One (Compilation)

The eagerly awaited debut album from the ‘Swing Sisters’ lands on Prohibition!

In October 2020, Emma Clair, founder of Manchester based club night and record label ‘Prohibition’, launched the ‘Swing Sisters’.

The aim of the project was to promote and support female identifying Electro Swing artists through a series of radio shows, live streams and the production of an album.

Fast forward to Summer 2021 and the Swing Sisters debut album is now ready to launch (thanks to a successful kickstarter campaign).

This 9 track collection of Electro Swing and Swing House music is a true celebration, with an underlying message of strength and power that we hope will inspire the future generation of female identifying artists.

Lead single Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves, is a rework of the classic female empowerment anthem, originally released by Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin. Emma Clair’s signature Swing House sound joins perfectly with the silky smooth vocals of Alanna Lyes.

Following on from this come 8 brand new and exclusive tracks, with music from Alanna Lyes, Blush Fox Trio, Dani Milano, Emma Clair, Kumiho, Madam Misfit, MARIA, Natalie Nightingale, Rosantique and Tallulah Goodtimes.

Each artist on the album delivers their own unique slant on Electro Swing, with a multitude of influences from the classic glamour of 1940s Broadway to the sparkle of a 1970s Disco to the dancefloors of the house music clubs and onwards to the festival fields where rap music collides with pumping beats!

‘Swing Sisters Volume One’ is on general release to all stores and streaming platforms on 3rd September, with a limited number of CDs available direct from Prohibition.
