Originating in the 60s and 70s, the Soul genre was a global sensation celebrated at Soul Allnighters and revered by the scooter and mod scenes. It encapsulates the spirit and soul of People of Color, weaving a vibrant thread that connects the past to the present.

The playlist, curated by Wolfgang Lohr, is an invitation to unearth forgotten gems and lose yourself in the rhythm on the dance floor. From Soul to Soul, keep the faith and feel the beat!

Delving into its HISTORY: Northern Soul, also referred to as Rare Soul, surfaced in the late 1960s as a distinct British music movement. More than just a genre, Northern Soul represents a subculture devoted to rediscovering and passionately collecting rare, highly danceable American Soul music. This movement, with over four decades of history, ranks amongst the oldest in pop culture. The term Northern Soul was coined by the legendary record shop owner and Soul Guru, David Godin, denoting the rare Soul music that was popular in Northern English clubs.
