This was probably one of the most difficult tasks I’ve had to face since I’ve been creating Electro Swing articles for you. And it’s all the fault of… Instagram, which removed the ‘latest posts’ option. At first I was very worried about whether I would be able to gather the latest Electro Swing news for you, but I did a very thorough research and thanks to this I can present you with the eighth article in the Electro Swing News series. There were a whole lot of singles released in April and quite a few albums to look out for. Read, listen and pick your favourite April music releases!

Quick Electro Swing News

Music label Freshly Squeezed has announced the news that Yabloko Moloko’s new fourth album, ‘Rumble Disco Machine’, will be released on 19 May. It’s no secret that I adore this saxophone virtuoso, creating an extremely warm, deep sound. And you know very well that the saxophone is one of my favourite musical instruments! 😊 His new second single announcing the album, ‘One Step Beyond’, was recently released. I really enjoyed this track, so I’m very much looking forward to hearing more.
Oh, I absolutely have to write to you about this playlist because it is one of the best Electro Swing playlists ever! Jamie Berry and PiSk (yes, you’re right, PiSk from Swingrowers) have put together a compilation of their favourite Electro Swing hits. It just so happens that 90% of the tracks featured on this playlist are my favourites too! 😊 Among them are bangers like Caravan Palace – ‘Wonderland’, Klischée – ‘Swing It Like Roger’, Pisk & Little Violet – ‘Watch Your Tongue’, Parov Stelar – ‘Booty Swing’, Jamie Berry & Octavia Rose – ‘Lost in The Rhythm’ and… Disclosure – ‘Tondo’! This last track is my favourite song! Really! I love the African rhythms combined with electronic music. And that magical saxophone in the background… Something wonderful. I’ve rocked a lot of parties with this banger, so I can’t help but encourage you to listen to the brilliant playlist Electro Swing – Jamie Berry x PiSk – TAKEOVER. 😊
Dirty Cash will be releasing a new single! On the 5th of May you’ll be able to join the amazing party by watching their video for ‘Red Flags’. I’ve already seen it and I can tell you that both the song and the music video are a real musical firecracker!

Electro Swing Single Releases – April 2023

I usually prepare a collection of premieres for you in the last week of the month. However, it sometimes happens that when Electro Swing News is ready, a new single is released. Therefore, I will start my list this time by rating the March single. Do you remember my rating scale? As a reminder: one heart – I like it. Two hearts: I like it a lot. Electro Swing Album Releases – April 2023

JOHNNY WRIGHT – “TALES FROM THE 45” – premiered on the 14th of April. Oh, I love musical birthday presents! It was my birthday on the 14th of April (apparently Johnny Wright’s too, so we’re celebrating birthdays on the same day!), and to make the day more pleasant, I started listening to Johnny Wright’s new album first thing in the morning. His single from 2021, ‘Big Bad Wolf’, is one of my favourite Electro Swing hits.
It couldn’t be more different: it’s the single that opens the album ‘Tales from the 45’. Johnny’s voice is so wonderful, delicate, full of emotion… Combined with the subtle electronic (including Electro Swing) sounds, it creates a perfect whole. My favourite songs from this album: all of them! Haha. But if I had to pick the absolute best ones, I think they would be: “Big Bad Wolf” (it’s so obvious, haha), “Yo-Yo”, “Secret Love!”, “Banana”.

DJ MIBOR – “ELECTRO SWING SOUND SYSTEM”. – premiered on the 28th of April. You know what I love most about my job? Being able to listen to singles or albums pre-release. When Jorge (DJ Mibor) emailed me a while ago to ask if maybe I would like to audition his new album, I was overjoyed. Firstly, I love his songs and his unique style inspired by old swing. And secondly, it makes me feel that artists count my opinion, which makes me incredibly happy.As I’m writing this article for you, the album hasn’t been released yet. 😊 But I’ve already listened to it many times and I have to admit that in all these songs you can hear that DJ Mibor loves to experiment with different musical genres, which I really like. I could, by the way, write a lot of positive things about this album, but then I’m afraid the article would be far too long. 😊 The songs I recommend to you the most: “Urban Swing”, “Come Back”, “Royal Swing”, “Small Town”.

My Top 3 Electro Swing Tracks – April 2023

I wrote to you that DJ Mibor sent me his album to listen to pre-release. But… not only DJ Mibor, but also another artist, shared his album with me. ♥ I can only tell you that this CD will be released very soon, in May. I listened to one of the tracks non-stop in April! And I’m going to be a bit of a mystery because… it won’t be until the next article in the Electro Swing News series that I’ll let you in on the secret of what track I couldn’t get out of my head and who the author is. 😊 So wait patiently and I hope you will also appreciate this single in May – because it is really brilliant!
