Time goes by so fast… Just a short while ago I was recording a video for you announcing my new Electro Swing News series, and suddenly it’s almost a year since I’ve been bringing you a new batch of news every month, a list of electro swing singles and album releases and a bit of gossip from the Electro Swing world! 😊 I’m very excited because I get a lot of messages from you guys saying how much you love this format and that you discover new Electro Swing songs thanks to me. This is really great – thank you for your support and I encourage you to read the tenth article in the Electro Swing News series!

Quick Electro Swing News And A Bit Of Gossip

I recently found out that Electro Swing Thing Records are going to remix Alice Francis‘ album, ‘Club Noir’. Oh, I love this album (in my opinion Alice Francis has one of the most pleasing vocals I’ve ever heard in my life) and I’m incredibly curious to hear what all the songs will sound like in the remixed version. Do you know who has officially joined the team that will be remixing the ‘Club Noir’ album? Well, I’ll let you in on that secret! 😊 Among others, it will be Balduin, Wolfgang Lohr, Atom Smith, Tape Five, LVDS, Club des Belugas, Glenn Gatsby, Betty Booom and Bbop. As you can see for yourself, this set of artists sounds just perfect! The forthcoming remix will be released on the 14th of July, but I won’t tell you who will prepare it, so that you can have a fantastic holiday surprise! 😊 The full remix album will probably be released in 2024, so keep a close eye on the news.
I’ve also heard that one of the top Electro Swing artists will remix another song by Marina & The Kats. Remember how Klischée released a brilliant remix of ‘Pressure’ and Betty Booom released a remix of the track ‘Ponder’? I’m already looking forward to it, how about you?
Admittedly, I’m not planning to go on holiday to Italy this year, but I’ll easily be able to feel that wonderful Italian vibe in my speakers… Why? Because I found out that an Electro Swing version of the summer timeless hit “Volare” will be released in July! For now, I can only tell you that this will be prepared by one of the top Electro Swing artists, who is famous for his musical experiments and for being inspired by many musical genres in his work. You can already guess who it will be? 😊

Electro Swing Single Releases – June 2023

Well, no Electro Swing album was released this month, but instead… a whole lot of singles! And you know what? I don’t think there’s been this many singles in any month since I’ve been writing Electro Swing News articles!

Do you remember my rating scale? One heart – I like it. Two hearts – I like it a lot. Three hearts: the track is brilliant! My favourite track released in June is Proleter‘s single – ‘The Maze In My Mind’. So perfectly crafted, full of a whole lot of instrumentation and such a gentle swing vibe. Something wonderful!

June was mainly dominated by my new musical discoveries in my speakers. I love finding new musical inspiration, and last month there was really a lot of it, so it was very hard to choose just three songs. I hope these songs will brighten your day and lift your mood during this wonderful summer time – as they did for me! 😊

Anna (LadyDot) was born in ’94, but always felt she came from the Golden Twenties. “Polka” in Polish means “girl from Poland”, so she’s “Polka in polka dots”. She loves vintage style and spontaneous travels around Europe. But her greatest love (apart from her husband) is of course music, especially Electro Swing, Funk, Swing Hop and French Electronic Music.

Anna works at a Polish music label, where she coordinates the physical production of CDs and vinyl records. Music is therefore not only her passion, but also her job!
