October was a month of many various musical surprises. Artists released a whole host of fantastic Halloween Electro Swing singles, I prepared an interview with Parov Stelar especially for you (if you haven’t read it yet, you can do so HERE), and there’s new news on social media about winter-spring tour dates. As I do every month, I’ve prepared for you Electro Swing News 14: quick news, my ratings of new singles and plenty of musical recommendations. It is my pleasure to invite you to read the 14th article in the Electro Swing News series! 😊

Quick Electro Swing News

I think one of the most important news items of October is that Caravan Palace have released a new single – ‘MAD’ – after a three year break. Swinging, a bit dark, with a great animated music video in the atmosphere of old films from the 1920s and 1930s. And just one day after the release of the single, they announced their first tour dates. For now, we know that Caravan Palace will perform in Paris, Brussels and London, but they have announced that there will be more of these dates. I’m eagerly waiting for more information and I really hope to go wild in front of the stage at their show in March or April 2024. 😊
Parov Stelar on Halloween announced new dates for 2024 Theater Tour 2023, with the following cities added to the list: Bratislava (Slovakia), Barcelona (Spain), Madrid (Spain) and Lisbon (Portugal).
Are you going to see Parov Stelar in concert? If you’re also planning to come to Warsaw, there’s a good chance we’ll meet there. 😉

Quick Electro Swing News

As many as four of the nine new Halloween releases from Electro Swing Thing Records have made their way onto Spotify’s official Electro Swing Halloween Edition playlist. These tracks are: Bbop – ‘Spooky Scary Skeletons (Future Swing Mix)’, Glenn Gatsby – ‘Somebodys Watching Me (Electro Swing Mix)’, Alice Francis – ‘Club Noir (Shemian Remix)’ and Wolfgang Lohr – ‘Halloween Swing Phenomena’. This is truly a huge achievement and I am very happy that these tracks have been recognised. Let’s keep it up!
Have you seen the animated clips for the Halloween songs yet? In addition to Caravan Palace and their great black and white music video for their latest single ‘MAD’, an animated music video was also created by Lamuzgueule for the really great song ‘Panic Room’. Be sure to check out these two clips!

Electro Swing Gossip

Don’t ask how I did it, but I found out that…. Caravan Palace will release a new album in spring 2024! And mind you, it’s not exactly a rumour, because it’s true! :) It’s been 4 years since the release of the “Chronologic” album (I love it!), so I’m waiting all the more with excitement and curiosity for more information on the matter, and when I find out anything else, I promise to let you know!

My Top 3 Electro Swing Songs – October 2023

I listened to a lot of Halloween songs in October, but it was Lamuzgueule’s single this month that stole my heart, with ‘PANIC ROOM’ very often in my headphones and speakers. 😉 I also revisited Moonlight Breakfast’s album ‘Shout’, from which comes the fantastic Electro Swing track ‘Champagne’. And Mr. Ours and ProleteR’s swing hop track ‘Feelin’ Hot’ released in September this year rocked me enough to join the list of those three tracks I couldn’t imagine October evenings without.

Anna (LadyDot) was born in ’94, but always felt she came from the Golden Twenties. “Polka” in Polish means “girl from Poland”, so she’s “Polka in polka dots”. She loves vintage style and spontaneous travels around Europe. But her greatest love (apart from her husband) is of course music, especially Electro Swing, Funk, Swing Hop and French Electronic Music.

Anna works at a Polish music label, where she coordinates the physical production of CDs and vinyl records. Music is therefore not only her passion, but also her job!
