My Dears! The time has come that we have reached the shore and this is the 20th article in the Electro Swing News series – and at the same time the last one I have prepared for you. Thank you so much for joining me in discovering news, gossip and information about singles and album releases for almost two years. I’m grateful for every positive comment and for every reaction on social media. It means a lot to me and I wholeheartedly appreciate it. Of course, as you can guess, I, meaning LadyDot, am absolutely not saying goodbye to you, as I’m constantly working at Electro Swing Thing and you will have the opportunity to read my reviews from time to time, and interviews with your favourite Electro Swing artists will continue to appear every month. And in some time… maybe some brand new series of articles? Who knows… 😊 Join me this last time and read the Electro Swing News I have prepared especially for you. 😊

Quick Electro Swing News

Deluxe have published the entire line-up of their Super Moustache Festival, which will take place in Aix-en-Provence, France, on 13-14th September. And I have to tell you that I’m totally thrilled, because it’s going to be a festival featuring some real stars from the French electronic music scene and beyond. These artists include AllttA, the musical project of 20-syl (C2C, Hocus Pocus) and Mr. J. Medeiros, and Bon Entendeur, who also draw inspiration from old-school sounds. In addition, Deluxe will play an acoustic set, followed by a full show the next day. If I get the chance, I would love to go to this festival, because I love French electronic music with all my heart! How about you?
Klischée & The Sheiks have released their first tour dates. So far it is known that they will play some live shows in Switzerland, but of course we are waiting for more information!
Da’Chabada have announced a new album, which will be released at the end of the release! Their debut singles, especially ‘Chabada’ and ‘Dans le Rétro’, were really great, so I’m looking forward to the new tracks from this debuting French band all the more with great curiosity!
Swingrowers‘ track ‘No Strings Attached’ has just surpassed 7 million streams on Spotify! I wholeheartedly congratulate them on this fully deserved achievement and I’m sure this is only the beginning of their spectacular success.

Electro Swing Single Releases – April 2024

April is the time when the season begins for the release of incredibly energetic, spring-like and positively summery singles. We at Electro Swing Thing have also released two singles in the style of Electro Ska and Balkan Bangers. Musical experimentation is something we definitely enjoy the most!
I personally probably liked the single ‘I Got You’ the most, released on the last day of the month on Ragtime Records. Incredibly positive vibe, lots of great electronic effects, brass section and vocals that I love and totally get me going. Emma Lea, C@ in the H@, excellent release, congratulations!

Electro Swing Album Releases – April 2024

A single with remixes, an EP and a full album – it’s been a really fruitful month for Electro Swing! Let me tell you a few words about these releases. 😊

Bart & Baker feat. Kitten on the Keys – ‘Get Ready for Love’ – 5th of April -> Listen to these five versions of Bart & Baker’s new single, which they released in collaboration with Kitten on the Keys! There’s a Radio, Club and Dub version, plus two remixes – one in Swing Hop style by Diggalista and another in Dub style by DJ Mibor. Definitely worth a listen!
Charlie Beale – ‘Whiskey and a Saddle’ (EP) – 19th of April -> These three tracks are Electro Blues in a really great way! You’ll hear a lot of country music influences here and I have to say that this is the perfect soundtrack for chilling out during sunsets. At the same time, it’s a very good comeback after a few years break from producing music!
Atom Smith – ‘Playing with Fire’ – 26th of April -> Oh, I have to admit to you that I was really looking forward to the release of this album! I love the musical style that Atom Smith has created and the fact that he is always ready to experiment. To collaborate on this album, Atom Smith invited fantastic vocalists such as Emma Lea, Alanna Lyes, Miss Emmma, Elliot Deutsch and Burkey. My favourite tracks from the Playing with Fire album: ‘Bad Girls’, ‘One for the Road’, ‘I Don’t Wanna Sleep’.

Anna (LadyDot) was born in ’94, but always felt she came from the Golden Twenties. “Polka” in Polish means “girl from Poland”, so she’s “Polka in polka dots”.
